- I am so glad to see some of these posts. My husband is having a
reversal done the first week of Sept. He has only had the colostomy
since March . It is because of a ruptured bowel twice and the large
intestine also. We were told that the stay could be 4-5 days.
Wondering about this also because we were there 17 days in march. and
two other stays in the hospital one in april and one in may. Thanks
for these posts really help us with our wonders also. Carla

the stoma 1/2--2". That will probably have packing in it that you
mnay have to pull out. They put a couple sutures in my stoma but
took them out when they took packing out. They did not pack it
again. That was at day 5. Not sure what packing was. They pulled
a bunch of material out of the stoma incision. That was kinda wierd
to watch that. They just left it open. I was sitting there getting
ready to go home, with my sweat pants down around hips, okkkkkk,
now what, lol.? Surgeon said, go home, lol.

an abnormal opening either to the skin or between 2 organs. He may
have a different incision in rectal area???
