Hi everyone, thanks for being here. My boyfriend has a colostomy. We
have only been dating 2 months. He didn't tell me he had a colostomy in
the beginning but on our first date I noticed something under his
shirt. I didn't say anything, but I thought it was a colostomy. I
researched on the internet and found this group. In my research I found
that I was right. He told me a week later, I was glad that he did
because my research had me scared that he was very sick. However his
health has declined and he is very sick. He has colon cancer. This
weekend he had a stint placed in his right kidney. The cancer is
spreading and he has been in the hospital twice since we have been
dating. I wish all he had was a colostomy, it worried me at first, but
once I understood more about it I was fine. Today he called me to tell
me he filled his bag with two pounds of waste/bm. I laughted so loud
and thanked God. He had not had a bowel movement in 5 days. I asked him
did he take a picture and we laughed some more.
