I have had a colostomy for three years now and I am getting along
fine with the exception of one problem. About every two weeks (it
varies a little) I have a LBM episode that usually results in a skin
barrier failure and the accompining mess and inconvience. Has
anyone else experience this problem?
I have talked to the surgeon who did my surgery and he recommended a
mild laxetive daily. It didn't help. A ostomy nurse told me to
contact my General Practioner but I don't want to waste my time, and
money for someone that doesn't have first had experience.
Has anyone found a good thing to help with odor? The only thing that
seem to work for me is a pouch change.
Thanks in advance.
It's good to be alive.
