Hi Trish, I had my "take down" last june and I did pass blood,it was not bright red blood.I have had a lot of problems with mine. When I went home, I could not go potty. I had to see the on call  Dr. he did 2 enemas in his office and I was fine. As a year has passed, I've had problems in getting regular. Please advise your mom to drink lot's of water,I take a tablespoon of milk of mag every other day, but I now pass bright red blood, my dr. thinks it's from straining. I wish your mom well and my prayers are with ya'll.
