Hello, all.  I have a question for those who have had a colostomy & have been reconnected (Or know anyone who has).  My mom had her colostomy "let down" (or is it "take down"?) procedure last Thursday.  She went through the surgery with no complications & her recovery has been smooth, thus far.  When I just spoke to her, she told me that while walking with a aide today, she passed gas for the first time, the aide was pleased.  However, right after that she had blood run from her and everywhere.  Does anyone know if it is normal to be passing any blood, after a reconnection & your bowels are starting to move again?
