Well, Hello Ivan, I'm Sylvia from Texas, I too had a sigmoid colostomy and have experienced all of your mishaps. What I found that helped were using the 2-piece appliances plus using the disposable liners. I suffer from severe IBS w/diarrhea and have had lot's of leaks or my face plate peeling off my tummy because my poop is too pasty, can't win or lose... But I know that it is frustrating and we can be "all thumbs" at times. A lot of what you are experiencing is normal believe me it has been 4 years. 1 year that I haven't had the bag because I had a reversal although I'm having soooo many problems with my rectum going into severe spasms that I'm thinking maybe it'd be best to have my Dr. redo the colostomy.......As far as your Doc, I too felt my colon and rectal Dr. would give me the brush off, so after my sister (who is a nurse), told me about another Dr. in that same medical group so, I went to see him and changed doctors. I don't know if that is something that you could do but also try a support group in your area.
