You'll be fine. Back in 2000 I had a temporary colostmy and I had mine for 6 months. I was scared to death after having my first surgery because of a horrible case of diverticuitis. I was really sick. The colostomy was the worst experience of my life and still thank God everyday for giving me the opportunity to have it reversed. The second surgery was also a little scary since 6 months later the surgeon still found some infection and told me afterwards he wasn't sure during the surgery he would be able to connect me back up, but he was able to get all of the infection and connect me back, and I have been great since. Let us know how you make out.
Note: The following year my husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer and had an urostomy and had to have his bladder removed. Unfortunaely this is permnament. I think with me having the colostomy I was able to understand so much of what he was going through, had I not had the experience I did. He writes on this board every now and then, I think it gives him suppor.
