Sherry Ann~
My mom has a temporary colostomy since November 2003, so I am not really one to offer you any advice. However, I have found that this site (link below) with it's discussion board to be very helpful to me over the months. Most members have colostomies themselves, and are more than willing to answer your questions & direct you to more info if needed.
Best wishes to you and yours.
Enjoy your daily blessings,
Trish

Subject: [colostomy] advice and info. Hello I'm new here. I have ulserated colitis that we have not been
able to clear up. My doctor at this point is talking about colon
removal. I have been really sick this last week and in alot of pain
so I'm thinking this is going to happen. Honestly I'm quite scared
being 30 and having 4 kids to take care of Just wanted to know a
little bit more about it and about your experiances. I also would
like to hear advice on how your spouce handles it.
