Re: [colostomy] Life w/out the bag ///

Hi Jack,
Yes I did experience leakage from the flange, you have to make sure you have enough room on top i always left enough to cover the entire bag Top then securing the bag, and you can see the liner once you have clipped on you bag. When I experience leakage you mean from the wafer, it was because my stool was not of semi loose consistency which made the stool stay in a positon where the remainder of the stool would not pass Thus, causing the wafer to open up and Poop to spu out. My advise is to drink plenty of liquids to keep your bowels from becoming too pasty, also you might want to reinforce the wafer  w/tape. I know its a hassle at times, but once you start to regulate your bowel movements you will know how to perfect it towards your needs. I wish you luck and Let me know how it works out. I purchase my liners from edge park medical, In their new catalog they are offering this new system 2-piece, which the bag is closed and when you need to empty it you just throw away the whole pouch and put a clean one on. you might want to give edge park a try they are having a promotional try on system, I don't know if they are biodegradable.
Hope this helps and keep in touch!!!!
