I have noticed that with time the gas will subside.  It was about 5 months before I noticed a big difference.  In the mean time I watched my diet as well as keeping a wash cloth over the bag to keep the noise down.  Don't fret, it gets a lot better.

rectal area. I am wearing the colostomy bag and I feel uneasy about
not being able to control the passing of gas through my stoma. Does
anybody have any suggestions to reduce the sound? I know the diet has
a lot to do with it, and I try very hard to follow a diet that does
not produce gas.

In reference to gas, I take 2-charchol tablets or capsules, you can buy them at your drug store or vitamin shop....
