Hello,
 
Just want to wish everyone a happy new year!
 
so far, it's been a rough ride.  dad was unconscious morning of christmas eve --
hospice came and gave some meds (ritalin and steroids) which woke him up.  we
all celebrated (all 50 family members) at my parents house on xmas day.  he was
able to eat.  he can't move his legs due to the spinal mets compressing his
spine, but my husband carried him to the dining room to be with family.  he's
been bedridden 24/7 since nov 4. 
 
i thought he will be okay since dad has been fighting stage 4 cc for 7 1/2
years.  he has mets to lungs, liver, abdomen, spine.  he stopped treatments in
sept after
my wedding because nothing worked anymore.
 
dad is now sleeping again and can't wake up.  hospice says it's common for
patients nearing end of life to sleep most of the time since their bodies are
shutting down.  he's not in pain so i am thankful for that.
 
today was rough bc/c/ my mom asked me to make funeral arrangements..it made me
sick but i know it's inevitable.   i am so grateful that my dad was able to
attend my wedding and i got my dance with my father...i will always cherish that
memory!!!
 
jan 1 was his 68th b-day...he's still so young.  i can't imagine life without my
dad.
he's always been my biggest fan and the "man" in my life (even now that i'm
married).   i am so depressed and sad.  i feel even worse for my mom.  my
parents were high school sweathearts and have been married for 40 years.  my
mom has never been alone. 
 
i'm so sorry i'm rambling....
