Re: [colon_cancer_support] Re: Hello, I'm new

Well, that's a relief!! Thank you so much for emailing! No, I did not
realize there were many other causes for blood in the stool. I still plan
to hang around and learn more.

Jinny,
You've come to the right place for information but PLEASE do not
assume that you have colon cancer. There are MANY causes of occult
blood in the stool, most of which have nothing to do with cancer.
(That's why it is not considered a cancer screening test)Get the
colonoscopy done as quickly as possible so you know what's going on
and then you can deal with the results. You're right in that the prep
(drinking whatever colon cleansing agent your radiologist prefers-
there are several different products available, they will prescribe
the one they like)is the worst part of the process. If they prescribe
the gallon of 'go lightly'solution, try mixing it with some crystal
light lemonade mix and refrigerate it.
Good luck and please let us know how things turn out! We'll be
thinking of you!
