This group was inspired by a get together of six codependents, who, after a day conference in San Francisco, built a bonfire on Ocean Beach and found fellowship the 28th of October 2006. We shared with one another observing the safeguards customary to a regular Codependents Anonymous (CoDA) meeting. We did not use the standard meeting opening and closing, but engaged in meditation and ritual suited to a dark night sitting round a bonfire. Desiring to share the opportunity for this experience, as well as experiencing the ambiance again ourselves, this yahoogroup has come to be. If you're interested in a bonfire, pulse the group to see if others of like mind are available. Exact location may vary, but expectations would be to meet around sunset on an evening with reasonably mild if not spectacular weather.
Since the setting is not well-suited to reading, you should not feel obligated to make this just like a regular meeting. As such, it might not be appropriate for a very green CoDA newcomer to participate until s/he has been well acclimated to the behavioral norms of regular meetings.
