Like you my eldest child Emily was diagnosed at birth and so when I had my son
Jack 4 years later he was automatically screened for DDH. The ultra-scan at 8
weeks indicated his hips were fine (we also had a precautional x-ray aged 6
months and again all looked great). I WAS neurotic about it all lol as he also
had and extra leg crease and my GP and Emily's surgeon said this can be
perfectly normal and is not necessarily an indicator of DDH. I would definitely
get it checked out just for peace of mind. I hope this helps.

HI everyone well i didnt think i would be posting on here again but OH
WELL. Erm my now 5 year Jessica had bilateral DDH full dislocation
which was found at birth due to her being breech. She was succesfully
treated within 6mths using pavlik and rhino harness. Well we have a new
addition Lydia 7mths who at 4weeks had a scan which was fine although
the ultrasoundist said (her left hip reads shallow) but because shes so
tiny she wasnt worried. Well at her 6mth check the health visitor
noticed an extra crease on her left hip and its also slightly larger
than her right leg.she dosnt really weight bear brilliantly and only
just started to kick both legs shes now got to see the ortho at the
local childrens hospital.
?? is an extra crease a worrying sign or can it be normal just asking
with all your wisdom before i prepare for the worse.
