Welcome Melissa. The board isn't very active, but Joy is a wonderful resource!
(Thank you Joy).
We adopted our daughter from China just 4 weeks ago. After our approval, we
were told that she also has a dislocated hip. She is 2.5 & started walking
right before her 2nd birthday (so we were told). She isn't in any pain, but
does walk with a slight limp. We are awaiting a return call from the surgeon
regarding her surgery date.
I'll be thinking about you & Caroline. I pray that she is lucky enough to
have a closed reduction. But whatever they do, there are marvelous surgeons out
there that will do wonderful work on her. I think we've found a great surgeon
at Riley HOspital for Children in Indianapolis.
Where are you located?

Hello, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Melissa and I have
three daughters, ages 6, 4 & 18m. My 18m. old Caroline was just
diagnosed with ddh. Her left hip is dislocated & they will explore her
right hip on Monday, when she is scheduled for a reduction (open or
closed) with possible femoral and pelvic osteotomies.
This has all happened so fast, in the past 2 weeks, and I am glad to
find some support from those who are going through it too.
Thanks,
Melissa
