Hi All,

Our daughter Abigail has recently had her Hip Spica removed after 12
weeks -oh bliss!

However we are a bit concerned about the leg operated on, the left one..

She has been out of her cast now for 3 weeks and is still not able to
walk, although she goes around on all fours quite happily, apart from
the occasional head injury where she cannot see where she is going!!

We noticed this evening that her left leg (the one that was operated
on) is a good inch longer than the other. We wondered what the
experience of other members is that we could draw on.

The consultant seemed quite happy at the 6 week plaster change, but did
change the angle of her legs quite significantly. He also seemed quite
happy when the time came to remove the plaster and said no special
treatment etc.

We have a 6 week check coming up but would appreciate some advice from
other post op parents...
