Re: [Clicky Hips Club] Hello

Rebecca

It sounds good that they have found the problem so
early, so there will be a better chance of the
treatment working. My daughter's CDH was missed twice
and not discovered until she was 5 months old. She
had a 'closed reduction' - where the hip is put back
into the socket without surgery, then placed in a
plaster for about 6 weeks. She then had to wear a
plastic splint for six weeks. So no baths or swimming
for 3 months! She also had an arthrogram at 2 years
to check everything was developing properly. The
general anaesthetic isn't very nice to see them go
through but on the whole the treatment doesn't seem to
bother them. Grace is 7 now and her hips are fine -
we just have a check up every two years. I hope
everything goes well with Aidan. The organisation
Steps are a great source of support and their website
is a worth a look.

Good luck
Hazel
