Hi there this probably wont help you but as far as i can see there is
lots of reasons for ddh i have a bad family history of ddh my
grandfather had it then had six children three of them had it my mum
never but i got it and now my first daughter has it and about to get
spica cast put on. I explained to my ortho doctor and he said family
history doesnt necessarily mean that this is why my daughter has it i
have heard that first born girls is more likely and less likely to
effect second babies. my daughter was born by emergency c section
which i've been told is a factor and also hormones as they pass from
mother to child, lack of amniotic fluid and breech babies, most people
i've spoken to just one child has had it and was the first born, i
think its most likely to be genetic despite what the ortho doctor said
to me as so many of us in my family have it. Good luck.
