hello, my daughter daryl-ann was born 4 weeks early, breech and
delivered by emergency c-section. she was 6 weeks old when we
recieved an appointment for a scan, and her left hip was not ok(her
acetablum was shallow) and they put her into a palvik harness, we was
then refered to the consultant, the harness wasnt working and was took
off. she was left alone untill 6 months old. march 05,daryl went into
hospital for arthogram,an open reduction, and put into a hip spica
cast iluminous pink and at a funny angle(like a ballet dancer)it has
to be worn four months with no changes. april, no change in
development. may(half way),her acetablum has developed into a soup
bowl(should be cup shaped) the cast is finally coming off 4th
july!!!(week mon). i hope it will be fixed but im not so sure, other
stories ive read seem to go through this for years, operations and
casts,i have found it hard to cope but i feel im lucky daryl's a
happy baby, she's so contented. would love to hear for someone with a
similar story and what's the progress,is this likley going to be
corrected after 4 months,i also believe a brace has to be worn after
the cast. thankyou deborah x
