pelvic osteotomy   Message List

Hi there, wondering if anyone can give me a little info as to how
your kids coped after a pelvic osteotomy, how long did they stay in
hospital? how was the pain? how long in a cast?

My daughter Emily, who is nearly 6, is going in for her op on 30th
march, she has already had a closed reduction, an open reduction with
a capsule release and a femoral osteotomy, and alas her hip is still
unstable and dislocates under only slight pressure. her consultant
is hoping that the pelvic op will do the trick but has also advised
us that she may also need another femoral osteotomy and work on the
capsule at the same time.

Just looking for some info so I can prepare myself and Emily, have
asked the doctors but I think always better to get info from parents
and kids who have been through it.

look forward to hearing from you

regards vicki
