Re: [Clicky Hips Club] good news

--- In clickyhipsclub@yahoogroups.com, Andrea Macro <
Hi Andrea,

Thanks for your message, it sure has made our month! we have been so
worried Shannon would be diagnosed. We was hoping Kacey would
be "set free" as last time the consultant thought her inprovement
was excellent but that x-ray was with the brace and this time was
without so he had a different perspective, but still hopefully only
another 3 months is great, at least she is making progress and the
news about Shannon was so good not much would have wiped our smile!
You asked about Kaceys brace, its hard to describe but it is made
by "medistocks" ( if thats how it is spelt. It sort of comes up to
nappy height and shape at the back and is all plastic lined with
foam padding then there is a plastic bar just under her bum to hold
the legs apart then there is foam strips that I bring round her
thighs back onto themselves then fasten with velcro straps. and
another velcro strap comes round her waist th hold it in place.
It sounds rather awful and complicated but it is excellent. Kacey
has a pavlik harness first but was too detemined and strong to let
it hold her so this brace was fitted and she loves it, she had a
rash all over with the pavlik but had not suffered at all with this.
She is 14 months at the end of the month and walks both with it on
and with it off (she is allowed it off 1hr a day). The consultant
did tell us that it gives so much suppport that even after an
operation he has fitted this brace onto a child instead of plaster!
hope you get the image of my description and it helps.

Good luck again for tomorrow, i admire you, I was so heart broken at
having the brace fitted I don't know what I would do if it came to
an operation, I suppose its hard but you always find a way.
Well done to you both, take care and let us know how it goes

Love
Zoe
