Thank you all sooo much for your replies - it's so nice to know that
you're all there!
We took Amy for her first week check-up yesterday, and the doctor
did a very quick exam (didn't even ask to take her nappy or dress
off) and said that everything was OK with the harness. Looking back
the first week has gone very very quickly, so here's hoping that the
next 12 or so go like that too. Am I a bad mother for saying that??
Before this happened, I wanted to enjoy every second and make it
last a lifetime with her because they grow up soooo quickly, but now
I can't wait till she gets her harness off and we can play with her
and bath her properly. Still enjoying every minute, though!
Reading some of your stories, I also feel kinda silly cos I see the
hell that you are going through, and realise that so far (touch
wood!) we haven't had to go through half of what you are
experiencing. It is so wonderful to see the success stories, though,
and also to be able to share the heartbreaks. I was shocked at the
lack of information at the hospital, and intend to do something
about that going forwards, so maybe there was a reason why this
happened.
Keep in touch!
