Re: [Clicky Hips Club] Introduction

Hi Holly, my daughter Emilia (5mths) also cries all the time! but she always
has. I presumed it was just a 'girlie' thing after having 3 boys before her who
were no trouble. But I do suspect that this hip is giving her problems. She too
is in plaster & has 8 weeks left of the 12. I breastfeed her, but she recently
has started to 'fight' me & seems disinterested in the breast milk.

I can't really shed any light on your problem, but wanted to let you know you're
not alone & I'm in a similar position myself. If you're in the UK(?) have you
spoken to your health visitor? she may help/support you.

take care

Jo & Emilia

Subject: [Clicky Hips Club] Introduction

I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Holly and I am a mother of 5
children, 3 girls and 2 boys. When I was a baby I had a Congenital
Hip and my 5th child was recently diagnosed with this as well.
Fortunately they found it when she was born at the hosptial. It is in
only one hip and the harness for 6 weeks did not work. She just had a
cast put on and we have been having a great deal of problems. After
many struggles I have managed to keep breastfeeding but she cries
with extreme gas pain afterwards and is not sleeping well.

The surgery was only a week ago. I am wondering if this will get
better and if anyone has heard of a baby having gas from the position
the legs are in? The nurse at the doctors office said she thought it
was colic. It is not. Before the procedure last week her disposition
was very laid back and she slept most of the time.

I am extremely sleep deprived and frazzled, especially being that I
have 4 other children ranging from 10yr to 17mo.

Thanks for any feedback.

Holly
