Jo,
So sorry to hear about the failed closed reduction. Sometimes it happens if
there is cartilage that gets in to the hip so that the femur can't remain in
the socket. The only surefire way to have it stay in is to do an open
reduction and clean out the tissue. Hope that you got better news while
undergoing the new operation.
