Re: [Clicky Hips Club] Newbie...

Hi Jo

Sorry to hear about your little one. Similar story to ours. Emily was
diagnosed at 8 weeks after an ultra-scan as she was a breach baby too.

It is difficult to answer your questions as every child is different, but,
it is likely that Emilia (beautiful name) will need an open reduction. This
normally involves an arthrogram (dye injection) which allows the surgeon to
see what the problem is. All being well they will manipulate the hips into
position and cast her. Cast times vary from 6 weeks to 9 months, it all
depends on the severity/surgeon. She probably be in hospital for a day or
two (it might even be a same day surgery). Breastfeeding can still be done,
it's tricky though! How did your appointment go. What did Emilia's surgeon
suggest. Let us know.....

Take care
Sara (Emily's Mum )

again on the 27th Jan. He has told us he will refer us to Birmingham
Childrens hospital for her treatment. Can anyone help with my questions
please:

seen 2 previous cases in her 15yr career, so we're alone in this area &
struggling to find support. I hope this group is my lifeline.

Jo, I think that you need to have someone who has seen this more than 2 times in 15 years. I am not sure why your visitor took the harness off so soon. From...
