Karen,
I am mom to Claudia and I also am the person who keeps the www.hip-baby.org
site going. ( with a LOT of help from my husband) The acetabulum developing
slowly is fairly commonplace. It is not a fast fix for any part of this
condition. I also noticed you said that your daughter was diagnosed with
epilepsy. My son, my hipbaby's older brother has epilepsy. I am amazed
that your daughter was diagnosed with absence seizures so young. Absence
seizures are very hard to spot, in fact there are kids at a childhood
epilepsy site who go years with no one quite sure what is happening, just
that something is not right. If you are interested the site is
childhoodepilepsy@yahoogroups.com Good luck, I know what a trial all of
these things are.

Nancy [keeper of the www.hip-baby.org website, and mom to
Claudia, misdiagnosed at 9 months, diagnosed at 16 mo nths with bilaterally
dislosated hips and DDH, traction for 8 days, adductor tenotomy, closed
reduction, 20 weeks of casts, full-time abduction brace wearing for 1year,
open reduction and bilateral pelvic osteotomies, cast for 7 weeks, and now
only going for once a year check-ups!]
