Hi to everyone
Looks like I'm not the only one who has been too busy over the summer
to post... hope this means that no-one has had any bad news since I
was last on.
All is great here, Georgia had her pins and plate removed before the
summer hols, our wonderful specialist did it then so she would be
fully recovered for nursery. We were told by an OT to keep her off
her feet for 3 weeks after her op... a more realistic surgeon
said 'no bouncy castles for 3 weeks' which was much more achievable.
Georgia is doing really well, the operation to remove her pins and
plate found she has Avascular Necrosis (which we had suspected due to
the stiffness in her hip), the surgeon thinks that this should clear
up on its own without the need for further surgery as her hip is
getting less, rather than more, stiff. She is walking and running
really well and is enjoying ballet class, she has been given the all
clear to throw herself around as much as she likes... she starts
nursery on Friday...
Gemma also has the all clear, she had an x-ray at the same time as
Georgia had her 6 week check after her op, and her hips are fine, we
have been given an open appointment incase we are worried about her.
Hope everyone is well.
Take care
Jen
