It's good to hear from you and thanks for taking the time to reply.
You're right Nancy, waiting 6 weeks will do no good whatsoever, can't
quite understand why my sister is waiting. I think it's because the
doctor she saw advised her to wait until he was a year old, but she
told me that she would only wait until the baby was 10 months old and
not any longer. So with the doctor not seeming to take the weight
bearing(or rather lack of) that seriously I can only assume that
she's hoping that he'll suddenly within this period of time start to
take the weight on his feet.

There's seems to be quite a few stories like yours Nancy with
doctors who are very inexperienced, looking at our children, saying
nothings wrong and then sending us on our way!!
It's terrible what happenned with Claudia, these doctors have a lot
to answer for.
This happenned with Jenna, the doctor seen her at 14 months and told
us there was definitely something wrong, Jenna then saw the
specialist from the age of 16 months to age 2 1/2yrs before finally
being diagnosed!! He continuously told us that Jenna was "extremely"
double-jointed and that's why she had walking difficulties. More
shockingly when I asked how long before she would put her feet down
flat on the ground(she walked on the inside of her left foot& stood
on her right tip-toes at all times)well he told us not until she was
8 or 9 yrs of age!!
Imagine if we'd waited until this age, it doesn't bear thinking
about!!
