Hi Lanor & Hugh
I'm sorry to hear about your little one. I am not an expert as my daughter's
hip didn't click as they were completely dislocated but it does sound like your
daughter's hips are moving in and out of the socket hence the clicking sound.
Generally on your first appointment they will scan her (the same ultrasound that
is used during pregnancy). Because she is so young the cartlidge in that area
will not show on an x-ray. Your daughter is a similar age to my daughter when
she was diagnosed and Emily went into a pavlick harness. The success rate of
this harness is 90%+, so I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
I hope this has helps and if you need any more info just let me know.
Good Luck for Tuesday.
Take care
Sara

Subject: [Clicky Hips Club] clicky hips???
Hello everyone, my daughter is coming up 7 weeks old and we can hear
a clicking noise in both hips (mainly left hip though) when she is
kicking around. Is this a definate sign of CDH? We have a hospital
appointment on Tuesday and will, of course, raise this with them. The
problem being that we live in South Korea and have a language
difficulty. If anyone could describe/explain to us what we could
expect from a first appointment at home we will have some idea if
they are going down the right route as far as checks are concerened &
if CDH is found what should we expect to have done on that 1st
appointment?
Thanks all in advance, we're fumbling in the dark a bit here.
