Sara,
I always loved the comments of 'Well at least its not something serious!"
Excuse me, my child is unable to walk, has had surgery 5 times, will be in
this cast for months on end and even then we are not sure it will have all
worked, and you tell me its not serious?!! Sometimes, like you said, it was
all I could do to not end up sounding like an arse, or worse. Good talking
to you.
Nancy (keeper of the www.hip-baby.org website and mom to
Claudia,(misdiagnosed at 9 months) diagnosed with bilaterally dislocated
hips and DDH at 16 months, traction for 8 days, adductor tenotomy, closed
reduction, 20 weeks of casts, full-time abduction brace wearing for 1 year,
open reduction and bilateral pelvic osteotomies, 7 weeks of cast, now only
going for once a year x-ray and check-ups)

people but end up sounding like an arse. The comment that gets me really
mad is "just wait till she is walking, you won't know what's hit you". The
whole reason my daughter has had surgery is so that she can walk. Grrrrrr
