George,
Yes, the area is in the hills NW of Guat. about 20 mi. (33 km). In
relation to a piping project not far from there I have had contact
with both Guatemala Nordeste (Erwin Deger) and Guatamala Sur (Roberto
Colmenares) Clubs. I am aware of your association with Guatemala
Sur. I understand both of the mentioned Clubs are now handling their
quota of MG projects so I am looking on a wider scale.
I am looking for someone to contact the President of Cruz Blanca,
someone who can, with knowlege of various clean water systems,
discover what is needed and can create a project fitting their needs.
I do know that there is an existing water system which has become
contaminated. At some time in recent history, there were plans to
install a chlorination system but that fell through due to misuse of
the designated funds. There seems to be no other funds forthcoming.
I can give the appropriate Rotarian the name of the President and his
phone no.
I envision Scotia Rotary as the primary International Sponsor Club.
YIR,
Wayne
