Oh please George, what is this??? Please don't tell me that Larry is not a "true
believer". We live in a world where we meet all kinds of influences, and it
would be not good, in my idea, if we turn away from these. Just saying that the
one and only "true" Adlerian is mr Stein is slightly exaggerated. Or do you mean
that he is even more Adlerian than Mr Adler himself??? It must not have escaped
you that Adler himself had his own development which stopped at his death,
unfortunately, but what would have happened if he would have lived for another
20 years????.
I am not very much in favor of these kinds of "purism" which so easily can
turn into a "cult". And I am SURE that Adler himself was so broad-minded that he
would have opposed being seen as the founder of a cult.
Thats why he wrote "Es kann auch alles anders sein". Which translates freely
into "I may be convinced of that I am right, nevertheless things can be totally
different". Just that gives the relativity of so-called "truths"..

I spent some time with Larry about 15 years ago at which time he was
very Dreikursian. I have no knowledge if these views have changed,
but at the time I was with him, he did not, as I saw it, fully
represent the psychology of Adler. This is not to deny that he helped
folks. This needs to be taken into account and in my opinion, the
purest form of Adlerian psychology is represented on Henry Stein's
pages ... just FYI.
