Answers to ADD/ADHD
Do you have unanswered questions about your ADD/ADHD child? ADD/ADHD is a
term familiar to most parents. Often parents wonder if the reasons for their
child's lack of success in school is caused by this disorder. This
informational booklet begins by defining the disorder and listing the common
mental
traits, physical traits, and emotional traits that accompany it. It also
identifies the signs and indicators of ADD/ADHD at various ages from prenatal to
adolescence. The booklet lists four categories in which to help these
children--biochemical, sensorimotor, academic, and psychological--and offers
techniques
for doing so in each category. It is strongly stated that no checklist is a
substitute for a full evaluation, but the author does include a hyperactivity
screening checklist, medication effectiveness checklist, and classroom daily
report form that parents can use as a pre-screening device for their own
information. This booklet is a must for parents wanting practical ways to deal
with this often frustrating disorder. Also available as part of the Family
Power
Series.
