I think that there are more theories that have adopted this conviction since
Adler first wrote down his ideas. It is his idea of "holism" that led him to his
conviction that all elements that can be seen in a person are necessarily linked
together. I included a website that explains the idea of holism that Adler
borrowed from the South African philosopher Jan Smuts.

Maybe it is possible to discern emotion and intelligence, but it will never be
possible to make intelligence work without being influenced by one's emotions.

So by adopting this idea of indivisibility one has a more true understanding of
human nature. Or, to use the old phrase "The whole is more than the sum of its
elements"
