Paulina,
I believe there is a technique that can be used to determine
if one feels inferior. You ask a person 5 questions on a scale of 1 to
100 and they are as follows: 1. Rate yourself as a total person in
comparison with other people of your own group; 2. Rate yourself in
terms of where you think others see you overall; 3. Rate yourself in
terms of what you think your absolute potential could be, if you had
all the opportunities in life and all the means needed to achieve your
goals; 4. Rate yourself in terms of your future expectations, where
you think you may be overall in 5 years from now; 5. Rate where you
would want to be right now, what you think you should be at this time.
Now, if you wish you may draw 5 vertical lines on a sheet of
paper and actually mark these 5 ratings. Inferiority feelings as well
as the inferiority complex are indicated by the extent of the
difference between the rating on line 1 and line 5. The higher the
difference, the higher the feeling of inferiority. I hope this
response isn't too late and I hope it helps.
