normal cervical fluid vs. yeast infection?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #5397 of 5628 |
OK so I'm 5.5 months postpartum now, EBFing and no sign of a period (yay!) but
I've been trying to chart and really struggling with it. All through the last
trimester I had a yeast infection, baby and I are still struggling with thrush,
but I hadn't had signs of any kind of cervical fluid at all till the last few
days. It's definitely not the fertile eggwhite kind, I remember that from before
I got pregnant, it's yellowish and while not exactly sticky it isn't exactly
smooth either.
In the online descriptions they always say that a yeast infection looks like
cottage-cheesy discharge, but the whole time I had one while pregnant it didn't
look anything like cottage cheese and it doesn't now. Nonetheless, I'm wondering
if its a sign of my fertility trying to return or if its the infection. Any
ideas?

Also, I've only temped for a week, and I have a couple questions... is it normal
for your waking temp to be below 97 almost all the time? and also, if I wake up
at about 5 a.m. and breastfeed (basically roll over in bed, I cosleep with
baby), should I temp then? I don't actually get up nor do I turn a light on
until 6 or 7 a.m., but I wake up several times at night to BF or change baby's
diaper. I have been temping when I wake up "for real" at 6ish.

Have you had a chance to meet up with your instructor for a refresher? I would highly encourage that, as post partum charting will be different than charting...

... It doesn't sound like you have a lot of experience, so close guidance from your teacher is in order. You might also use your cervix as another indicator,...
