As the moderator of the NFP-FAM group on yahoo, I wouldn't recommend that.
We tried open subscription, but found we got hit with a lot of
inappropriate messages, so we had to go to a situation where everyone is
moderated until their first post, at which point I switch them over to
full posting status.
