Exaulted Or Exhausted?   Message List

"He will not let your foot slip, He who watches
over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches
over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The
LORD watches over you. Psalm 121:3-5 NIV
A friend shared a story with me about her toddler
granddaughter a while ago. On their way home from
church, they chuckled as they heard her singing,
"He is exhausted, the King is exhausted on high."
Quite a change from the actual words which express
how God should be exalted! Webster's Dictionary
defines exalted as "elevated by praise or in one's
estimation." It is hard for me to think of
anything I enjoy more than being a part of a
community of believers praising God in music. It
is also hard for me to imagine a way that God could
be elevated in my estimation – He is everything to me!

Then I think about my days apart from Sundays. Do
I exalt God with my praise or do I exhaust Him with
my problems? Are my prayers just laundry lists of
needs and wants or are they times of intimacy with
my Savior? Does God hear love and honor in my
voice or do I sound like a whiney child? I know
what I want Him to hear but can I assure it in my
humanity?

He is God, Jehovah, King of Kings and yet He is my
Father. I am his child! He loves me with a never
ending love and the Scriptures promise that He is
always watching over me. Happily, I haven't found
Scripture that says He limits His love, even when I
am "exhausting!"

"LORD God, Only You are worthy of my praise and my
exaltation. I love You. Amen"
