Memorizing Life's Lessons

I have hidden your word in my heart that I may not sin
against you!
Psalm 119:11

My son is learning how to repair and build computers.
Since I am a Home-school mom I often speak to my son
in terms that will directly help him memorize the
subject we trying to learn. This week we are using
Computer terms in our conversations.

Example:
When I lose my train of thought my son may say to me
?Mom you need to add an extended memory module.?
Or if my son?s room is a mess and I want him to clean
it I may tell him to defrag his registry, clean his
cookies and sweep the hard-drive.
This fun little activity helps my children to memorize
their lessons well.

Unlike the PC?s my son works on, I cannot replace and
repair the broken parts of my body that illness has
damaged. I have no virus protection program and I
cannot add an extended memory. This human body I live
in is deteriorating fast and pain and suffering
continue to be a part of my daily life. There is
however a ?Great Physician? who knows my body inside
and out and He also knows what is best for me. No
matter how bad the pain is, there is a loving Lord I
can turn to who is there to comfort my weary heart.

I can draw closer to my Lord by studying His word?the
Holy Bible. I can find the encouragement and comfort
I seek in those beautiful words of life. Even though
my memory is failing me as time progresses, I can hide
God?s word in my heart and use those precious
memorized words to help me find strength and courage
when life offers me pain and suffering. Like the
exercise I do with my son, I can pray the scriptures
to the Lord and feel His presence ever so strongly in
my life as I recall His promises.

Are you troubled today dear child? You can find the
comfort you seek today in the Beautiful Words of Life
called the Holy Scriptures.
