"But the Lord God called to the man,
"'Where are you?'" (Genesis 3:9 NIV)

One day, I was ill and the phone
rang. The person asked, "Is Faith there?"
I replied, "I'm sorry, Faith doesn't
live here." Those words echoed in my soul.
Indeed my faith was gone. It was like
receiving a "wake-up call" from God. I
began to chuckle and marvel at God's
divine providence. It made me think, "What
kind of God is this? Even the telephone
lines obey Him!" I could gently hear
my Savior saying, "You of little faith....
why are you so afraid?
(Matthew 8:26-27 NIV)

The apostle Paul had these words to say in
2 Corinthians 1:8-9 NIV: "We were under
great pressure, far beyond our ability to
endure, so that we despaired even of life.
Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence
of death. But this happened that we might
not rely on ourselves but on God, Who raises
the dead."

James 5:13-1 5 NIV states: "Is any one of
you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone
happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any
one of you sick? He should call the elders
of the church to pray over him and anoint him
with oil in the Name of the LORD. And the
prayer offered in faith will make the sick
person well; the LORD will raise him up."

God's word encourages us to call out for help.
However, isn't it wonderful that God calls
out to us!

"Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you."
(Ephesians 5:14 NIV)
