Subject: Spent Another Lovely Night In The Mercey Hosptial ER.....VENTING!

Hi Everybody-

Well, last night I got so sick (passed out, vomiting, nausea, ect……), so I went to a hospital about 10 miles away (when I live 2 blocks from one), knowing that it was a high CSF headache.  When then Dr. came in, she was absolutely wonderful!  She let me plan my own treatment, from pain and nausea meds to what kind of radiologist I wanted to do the spinal tap.  They BARELY kept my pain under control, I told her I needed at LEAST 8mg of morphine to get relief and she kept ordering 5.  I also warned her that I am very hard to treat pain wise, and always have severe back spasms after a LP.  I also told all of this to the neuro-radiologist to came in to do that LP under fleuro. 

They got the LP done in 1 stick (A FIRST FOR ME!!!), and as they were wheeling me back into the ER, I started having a allergic reaction to the lydocane (SP?)!  I had to fight with the ER Dr to give me BENADRYL!  Even though I was having a hard time breathing, she would not give me a shot of Epi, and I did not have my pen with me, or else I would have just given it to myself. 

My mom got off of work early to bring me home and we got into a fight because no more than 2 min before she got there I had just gotten my medications and was feeling VERY drowsy, but did not want to fall asleep, and she just could not understand that.  So she, again, left me alone when I needed her most. 

When the Dr. came in to discharge me, she treated me like ABSOLUTE DIRT!  The whole reason I go out of my way to go to this hospital is because I have always been treated with respect and NOT LIKE A DRUG SEEKER!  She told me that I need to go to therapy, it is all in my head (no pun intended!), ect, ect, ect………  Well, after about 20 minutes of me SOBBING (which I HATE doing), she said, well, I have other patients to see, I am not going to just stand here going back and forth with you.  I am writing in your chart that you are not to be given any narcotics for chronic pain.  That is not even what I went in for!  I went in for a high pressure headache!

I don’t know what to do anymore.  I am so insanely depressed.  I cant take being treated like a drug seeker anymore.  HELP!
