Longell,
I have a long history of daily headache. I personally prefer seeing a
neurologist that is a headache specialist or an internist that is a headache
specialist to be your one main doc and use the pain clinic as an occasional
resource. Try any university med school near you to find a Headache Clinic
not just a pain clinic. Try to find a doc that is a headache specialist.
Pain clinics treat all kinds of pain. You need somenone that focuses on
headache. Depending on how old your daughter is you might need to find
someone that specializes in headache in children. The National Headache
Foundation has a website that could help you find a doctor or clinic. Most
general docs do not know enough about treating headache. You need a
specialist. Don't give up until you find one. Many people travel out of
state to get the right doc. The longer daily headaches persist the harder
they are to treat. I am in St. Louis. For a while I traveled to the Diamond
Headache Clinic in Chicago. I now go to a headache Clinic here in St. Louis.
I have tried several pain clinics without much help. Try doing a search on
the internet for headache clinics. Call local hospitals to see if they have
headache specialists. Book stores usually have a section on books concerning
headache. Most of the time the docs that wrote the books are from headache
clinics. Good Luck with your daughter.
