RE: [chronicdailyheadache] Hello New Here

Hello Michele,

I’m Kanina 38 yrs.  I’ve had headaches for as long as I can remember and they keep getting worse.  I have been on countless drugs but the side effects really bother me too much to stay on anything so far.  The latest drug I was on was Lycra.  This worked very well.  I was pretty much headache free.  But it caused edema and I gained over 20lbs in a little over a month.  So my Dr. has me going off that for 2 weeks then going on a drug called Keppra.  I’ve been off the Lycra for 2 days and last night sleep horribly!  I was hot and cold all night and I couldn’t get comfortable.  I woke up this morning with that terrible headache.  Its so depressing!

In the last 6 months I was taking Neurontin and Cymbalta.  I really couldn’t handle the side effects from those and they didn’t seem to do much for me anyhow.

Besides from having a terrible never ending headache each day, the worst thing is that people just don’t understand how debilitating having headaches every day is.  Its just so depressing!

Kanina

Subject: [chronicdailyheadache] Hello New Here

Hi,I just joined the group. I've had cronic daily headaches for 25
years and I'm 35. My earliest memories of having headaches started
when I was about 10. I have taken Topomax. It is a very powerfull
drug. I took a long time to get used to it. When I first started
taking it, it made my headaches worse. Then after about a month it
worked pretty well. I reduced my amount of really bad headaches down
to about half. Afer I was on it for about 6 months or so....my hair
started falling out...rapidly. So I had to get off of it, before I
was bald. Now I'm on Neurontin, I'm not sure if it's working or
not. I think not very well. I'm more spacy, memory loss, my vision
isn't that great anymore. I run into things...miss judge where
things are and run right into them. I'm also on Cymbalta...it works
pretty well but I'm constantly sweating. So I can't stand it...I'm
going to get off of it and try a different anti-depressant. I also
take Diclofenac...a anti-inflamatory and desipramine for sleep and
muscle relaxer. So between Cymbalta, Neorontin, desipramine and
diclofenac I still have headaches about everyother day if I'm lucky
enough to go a whole 24 hours with out headaches. I'm about ready to
give up. This is just what I'm taking now. I've tried so my drugs
the past 25 years, I can't even remember them all...but nothing has
worked for me. I'm seriously going to try and get off all the meds
and go natural. Change my diet...no sugar, salt, chocolate,
Caffene...ect. and see if I can get rid of my headaches on my own.

Sorry for going on and on. I'm just tired of being tired and having
headaches everyday of my life.

Michele
