Hi Shari, it sounds like you have allergy related headaches and or
seasonal ones, too. Of course bright lite makes most headaches worse.
I recently drove across country during Christmas time from Alabama to
San Diego Ca. During my turn to drive I found that my normal
sunglasses, which are prescription and polarized, didn't help so much
especially when the sun comes in from the side. So it turns out that
my mom had these, I call them old timer sunshades, their the kind
that will fit over your regular glasses so you don't have to buy
sunglasses. Well you might go to the drug store and pick you up a
pair and try wearing them over your sunglasses, I know it sounds like
over kill, but it worked for me.
As far as waking up in the night you might have sleep apnea. That can
cause you to be tired and it can cause headaches. I was tested for it
and they said I had it, but you have to wear this mask, and I kept
taking it off in the middle of the night so I stopped using it. I did
use it for about six weeks and didn't find any difference though. But
my aunt uses one and she says it has made a world of difference for
here.
As far as blood pressure, I took all kinds of medications for that.
Not because I had high blood pressure, but it's a common treatment
for people with headaches. The theory is that the blood vessels in
your brain become enlarged, to tell you the truth I don't know if
they really know why, but most of the time they will tell you it's
because of stress. Basically Dr.'s don't know a lot about the brain
and they are really shooting in the dark.
However, some medication do work for some people and for others they
don't. That's the big mystery. The same goes for psychiatric
illnesses. Right now the medical profession is really just treating
the symptoms, basically because they don't have any good clues as to
what the causes are. I'm sure a lot of it is genetic, but there has
to be other environmental or spiritual explanations for these
ailments. Personally I think it's a combination of the three, with
the latter being the greater.
I'm not really a religious person, however, I do believe in a higher
power and I believe that we are given obstacles to overcome and then
we move on to the next one. There may come a day when they figure out
a way to overcome our headaches, but until that day comes I feel you
have to try and stick to your beliefs and keep searching for ways to
overcome your pain, both physically and emotionally.
Good luck to you and thank you for sharing your story, I hope I have
been of some assistance to you.
Sincerely,
Bobby :)
