Re: [chronicdailyheadache] HELP - a typical title!

Dear Neil,
So sorry to hear you have been suffering so much. You have several health
problems going on that take good management by a good doctor. Is there any
Headache Clinic or Headache Specialist in the UK? That sounds like what you
may need. Some of the drugs you mentioned I have never heard of. I have
daily chronic headache everyday for 15 years. Mostly it is a medium
intensity headache that sometimes gets severe. Have you tried any of the
Migraine Meds like Imitrex, Maxalt, Zomig or Amerge? These might not be good
for you if you have high blood pressure though. Has anyone ever mentioned
you might have cluster headaches? The pain in the eye is sometimes
associated with cluster headaches. Sometimes they use pure oxygen to treat
cluster headache. One drug I take for pain is Norgesic Forte. It brings the
pain down some although it doesn't wipe it out. Some days it really helps
though. The National Headache Foundation here in the US has a website that
can be helpful. I also get their newsletter which is informative. They have
a list of docs that are members and help you find one near you but I'm not
sure about the UK. I know what you mean about the work situation because I
loved my job I had for 12 years but finally had to quit and go on disability
because of the headaches. I hope you can find a good doc you like and is
knowledgeable and sympathetic to your case. This battle with daily headache
is exhausting and depressing. I hope you find some relief soon.
Carolyn
