i'm in the same situation as you,i'll never be able to afford the
treatments either and it's heart breaking because i've been told how
much this will help me walk again.
I had a gallbladder surgury that went very bad,i died three times. I
have'nt walked since but i feel everything, even when my legs go to
sleep and the tingling when they wake up,i've been told nerve
rejuvination and that's it so,,7 years later i'm still trying and
praying to get the right help. Too sad that americans can't have the
same choice of healthcare available over seas:{

Yeah, they love stuff with English writing on it. I took pencils with "Florida" all over them (where we're from), and they loved it. But they do love chocolate.

I tell ya what they seemed to like the most was hershey bars, and them I just took a bag full of nic nacs from my area and they loved them. Its hard to tell how many are each facilty, so i'd just grab a handful. I gave the Dr's golfballs from my work and the therapsist got candy bars and key chains with lights and also ink pens went over big. Just my thoughts.

That sounds about right for the number of nurses (I never counted), and, yes, 4 translators, about 5-6 (?) physical therapists, 5-6 doctors, and don't forget the two cleaning ladies....they come with a smile on their faces every single day, sometimes twice a day, and keep your room very clean....they're so friendly. Also there's Serena that's in the office. I could be forgetting somebody....I hope not. If I am, I'm sorry. What I did, instead of bringing individual gifts (there's only so much room in your suitcase and only so much weight you're allowed) is I brought like some candies from home and every so often I'd put them on a plate and bring them out to the staff in general. They loved it. They love chocolate and sweets. But it's so easy to get gifts for them while you're over there, and you really could avoid packing and bringing things from home. It's so inexpensive over there......you can buy beautiful, artistic, special cakes for them (right at the RT Mart that's within walking distance).....cakes that you would pay lots of money for in the States, and they cost hardly anything over there, like $10 maybe......and bring it to them.

I just returned in November from Hangzhou and just an additional note, everyone is small. We brought some T-shirts and large sizes would not fit anyone! we gave a large to Amy who was a great nurse and was pregnant so the large made sense but she's probably had her baby now so I think you might miss her but even the men did not fit large.

Hi Peggy
I was there in August. There are approximately 8 doctors (I think there are now 3 female drs) 10 nurses (all female), 6 PT (you will have 2 – usually 1 m 1 f)), 4 Translators (2m 2f) & a secretary (f). They like American chocolate and tee-shirts, caps etc (with a logo or saying). The girls are all small. They get a lot of ‘junk’ so I’d avoid that. Hope this helps

I have not responded to the emails before today. Be have been to the Hangzou location twice with
our son Ryan. I have found that the staff does not really care about the chocolate. They put the chocolate in the drawer and share it with patients The girls are very weight conscious. They really appreciated PRACTICAL ITEMS.
The nurses and doctors liked the penlights we brought. They were disposable, so they did not last very long. You can buy the small ones that
fit in the lab coat pocket
online at medical supply website. You may want to buy the kind that take batteries. That would be nicer than what we brought. Some of the nurses and therapists
live in a shared apt. They do NOT have luxuries such as a shower! One staff member unhooks the hose from the washer
they were lucky to have and takes the hose outside to bathe. Some unscented hand lotion would be good too. You can email me privately with any more questions.

We just returned a few weeks ago from being in China for stem cells. My little girl is 4 and we stayed in the hospital the whole time. I don't know about being allowed to take the child out or not. I do know that when leaving the hospital for any reason, like even going to the grocery store, you have to sign them out as a patient, and they want information about where you're going and how long you'll be gone. Sometimes they even say no about taking the child out. Honestly I'm glad we stayed in the hospital though, because they can develop a fever after an injection, up to 2 days after, and the nurses were very good about checking her temperature during the night, which made me rest easier, knowing if she did get a fever we were in the hospital and the nurse was right there. Just something to consider.
Hope this helps!

allowed to spend the night outside of the hospital.

Yes Children are required to stay in the hospital by the medical department
but I do know of a few times when parents have taken their kids to a hotel
over night but I advise against this.
