**********DUE PROCESS**********
Mother Reunited with Child: After giving birth, nineteen-year-old Amanda Kolle experienced postpartum depression and asked a family friend to watch her son while she was in the hospital. When Amanda went to retrieve her baby a few weeks later, she discovered that the friend had given her baby away to a Beaver County couple. Despite the fact that Amanda had not given her consent, a Beaver County judge terminated Amanda's rights to her son and allowed the couple to adopt the child. After a twenty-month struggle culminating in a March 2000 Superior Court order reversing the termination of Amanda Kolle's rights in her infant son, and an April habeas corpus order from an Allegheny County judge directing reunification, mother and child were finally reunited on June 12, 2000. The case, which garnered national news attention, was featured on the May 31, 2000 edition of CBS News' 48 Hours. James Mahood (Wilder & Mahood), Witold Walczak
