In January I left my husband of three years. I moved to Lousiana to
seek help from my dad and step-mother from an abusive marriage. We
went to an attorney and I filed for divorce. Some things were
brought up from my step-mother about my ex that could be used
against him. Well I had moved in with my grandparents, my daughter
and I, and I had gotten a job there. Well me and my grandparents had
a fallen out and I moved in with a co-worker whom was a girl. My
sister had called me and asked me if I wanted her to keep my
daughter for me until I got situated at my friends house. I said
sure. I met my sister in a grocery store parking lot and dropped my
daughter off and her belongings. Well I went to work for a week and
that weekend I was going to go get her. I got a call from my step-
brother at work saying my dad and step-mother put a restraining
order on me accusing me of abandoning and neglecting my daughter.
Mind you I am 21, my daughter is 3, and I was going through a
divorce. So I went to court to fight the order. My step-mother used
what I had said about my ex, against me. Her and my father both lied
on the stand and had family and their friends get on the stand and
lie for them. He judge did not listen to anything I had said and
there was no proof of the aligations. It was all he said she said.
They made me take a drug test which came back negative. I filed a
petition against the judge and we had to go back to court. We had
agreed my parents could keep her for six months and I would come
back for her. I was unstable and didnt have a steady home for her.
BUT I NEVER ABANDONED OR NEGLECTED MY DAUGHTER. Well I moved to Las
Vegas and got my own apartment and a job. I am married to a man in
the air force now. October I am going to go back and get my
daughter. I ran into a problem. My dad said if I come to get her in
October there will be problems. I don't know what to do??? My step-
mother also called DHS on me and nothing was found. I feel like I
have ran into a dead end and now I dont know what to do??? When I
call to talk to my daughter they dont answer the phone and when they
do my step-mother makes excuses for me not to talk to her. PLEASE
HELP, IN DESPIRATE NEED TO GET DAUGHTER BACK....
