I have a problem with my grandchildren's environment. There's
hardly any food in the house ever. The house is usually filthy.
The cat's are always either sitting on the table or walking across
the counters. Both grandkids have a skin infection(big sores), and
my daughter-in-law said she was going to take them to the doctor
last Monday and didn't. It's not the first time with the skin
infections. We baby-sit them at times during the week so she can go
to school,or work(part-time). We stopped in yesterday just to drop
off something. She didn't know we were coming. It was 4:30 in the
afternoon. The 3 yr. old was running around with just panties on
and my daughter-in-law was sleeping. She could hardly wake up to
talk to us. My son has been working 10 hours a day 7 days a week
for a while. On the nights she can be with her family she goes out
with friends. The 3 yr. old has gone outside to play while her mom
was still in bed in the mornings. My question is when does one get
involved and what do you do since you don't like the child
protective services. I wish my daughter-in-law would shape up.
She's very stubborn about not wanting any one to interfere, except
when she is in a financial bind. We are both retired and I've done
without a lot of things in my life to save money for retirement and
she is in to us now to the tune of $21,000. She has also spent
thousands of dollars that my son had saved, but there is nothing to
show for it. Her sister is a heroin addict. I don't know what to
think. Does anyone have any ideas on this matter. Thank you, and I
am sorry this is so long.
