Mental Health Services Act, Prop. 63, on November Ballot
The Mental Health Services Act, endorsed by CHA and its Center for
Behavioral Health, will appear on the Nov. 2 general election ballot
as Proposition 63.
If passed by voters, Proposition 63 will expand mental health care
programs for children and adults in the areas of prevention,
education, early intervention and training.
Funds for the expanded programs would come from an additional 1
percent state income surcharge on every dollar of personal income
that exceeds $1 million. Proposition 63 is expected to generate
approximately $700 million per year in new funds for mental health
services.
